Thailand’s General Election is just over a week away and will now also feature a constitutional referendum. For non voters, they should also note the dates as the weekend will bring the 24-hour alcohol sales ban from 6:00pm on 31 January (Saturday) until 6:00pm on 1 February (Sunday), and then 6:00pm on 7 February (Saturday) until 6:00pm on 8 February (Sunday) when polls close. The ban applies to all election constituencies, prohibiting the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages in shops, bars, and private events. Also, this will mean entertainment venues shall close on the evening of Saturday, 7 February.
