DAY 1: ARRIVE BANGKOK

Welcome To Bangkok – Thailand! 

Meet & greet: On arrival at Bangkok Airport, you will met your private guide and then transfer (approx. 45 minutes) to your hotel to check in and take a rest. 

Check-in time is at 02:00pm and early check-in is subject to availability upon arrival. The remainder of the day is free at leisure. Lunch and Dinner are on your own arrangement.

Morning’s guided tour of Bangkok city: After breakfast, morning city tour of Royal Grand Palace which is the most shrine in the Kingdom. Then move on to Wat Po, which was built by King Rama I nearly 200 years and houses the gigantic Reclining Buddha and is the spiritual home of traditional therapeutic Thai Massage.
 
Afterward, walk a few steps to local pier for boarding an engine-powered long-tail boat to make your way along the fascinating Chao Phraya River, also referred to as the “River of Kings.” Enjoy an up-close look at the homes, temples, and daily activities along the river. Lunch is on your own way.
 

Afternoon at leisure: This afternoon, you are free to relax or enjoy the hotel’s facilities or to make the most of Bangkok’s excellent shopping opportunities.

Evening street food of the downtown: You will be escorted by your guide to enjoy the evening street culinary, one way by van and return by tuk-tuk. Wherever you go in the city, these food stalls are plentiful and every so often. Some street vendors operate in groups, often in local markets. Just wandering around the streets can easily grab your dinner. Afterward, you will be transferred by Tuk Tuk back to your hotel to enjoy a sleep master.

Guided tour of floating markets: Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel. At around 07:00 am, you will visit the Railway Track Market in Samut Songkram accompanied by your guide within a 1.5-hour drive. This is a unique experience as the vendors quickly pack up their stores as the train approaches the tracks. Then continue to drive through Bangkok’s rural outskirts to visit Damnoen Saduka Floating Market, stepping back in time to witness the traditional way local traders would do their merchandise. Then, you will be back to the hotel.

This afternoon is free at leisure or enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Dinner is on your own way.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and do check-out of the hotel at 08:30 am: Morning is free at leisure until 09:00 am, you will be picked up and transferred to Bangkok Airport for your afternoon flight to Chiang Rai, such a diversity of attractions that its capital is often overlooked. 

Upon arrival at Chiang Rai airport, you will meet your guide and will be transferred to visit Bandaam Museum, created by Thailand national artist Thawan Duchanee, includes nearly 40 small black houses made of wood, glass, concrete, bricks, or terracotta in various unique styles and design scattered around the temple area. The cluster of houses accommodates Thawan’s collections of paintings, sculptures, animal bones, skins, horns, and silver and gold items from around the world.

The next stop will be ‘Rai Mae Fah Luang’: It was originally developed as a centre of education and youth development extending scholarship programs sponsored by the Mae Fah Luang Foundation to disadvantaged students from impoverished communities in remote areas of the country. The last class of the Foundation’s Remote Area Student Program is due to celebrate their graduation in 2004. With its original founding mission successfully accomplished, Rai Mae Fah Luang enters the next phase, completing the transition from education and youth development to its new role as a cultural centre and a centre of Lanna studies dedicated to the conservation and promotion of Lanna heritage. Then you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Lunch and Dinner are on your own.

At around 08:00am, meet your guide at your hotel lobby and depart for the Kao Pleuk Village to visit Padong hill tribe people, also known as the Karen Long Neck people. This tribe moved to Thailand from the Burmese border sometime in the 1950’s and is known for the brass rings worn around the women’s necks. Continue to visit Choui Fong Tea Plantation, it is one of the biggest tea producers in the city of Chiang Rai, situated at the top of a hill with a bird’s eye view of the surrounding fields. Experienced travelers find themselves straying further from the beaches of the south and instead travel directly to the Thai mountains for gems like this. There is a tea shop and restaurant on site with expansive views over the rolling hills and mountains in the distance. It is a modern, clean, and intricately designed building with a terrace and huge windows opening out onto the scenery. There are numerous open fields to wander through and a menu with a diverse tea selection to choose from.

Afterward, enjoy a breathtaking trip to the highest peak of the area on the Thai-Burmese border, Doi Tung. The area provides the perfect opportunity to visit both Lahu and Akha hill tribe villages. En route, enjoy views of scenic farming terraces and see from a distance the palace built for the Princess’s mother. Located at the top of the peak of Doi Tung is Wat Phra That Doi Tung, offering stunning views over the river and rice fields below. The botanical gardens are a treat for the eyes as the cool climate allows some beautiful flowers to blossom throughout the year. Continue with a visit the infamous Golden Triangle where the Ruak river joins with the Mae Khong River bordering 3 countries Thailand, Burma and Laos. A thrilling ride via long-tail boat (20 minutes cruising) along the Mae Khong River provides an adventurous experience along the Laotian countryside.

Arrive back at your hotel at around 05:00pm. Lunch and Dinner are on your own.

At around 09:00am, start a 4-hour transfer to Chiang Mai over winding roads with incredible scenery.

On the way, make a stop to visit Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), a unique temple filled with delicate details and predominantly in white. It is established by a well-known Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who had accumulated funds over 20 years from selling his paintings. “I intend to create the replica of the magnificent and resplendent heaven.” The artist says. The temple is materialized based on the artist’s imaginaries and vision.

Expect to arrive in Chiang Mai around 04:00 pm, check into your hotel. Lunch and Dinner are on your own.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m. Transfer (approx. 1.5 hours) to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. Breathe clear mountain air as you drive through the beautiful agricultural countryside of Northern Thailand and get a glimpse of local life outside of the city. Upon arrival, you will be walked to the Sanctuary, and teach you a little about elephants and the local way of life. Get changed into traditional Karen clothing.

After having a short brief of the Sanctuary, grab some bananas and sugar cane to feed elephants. Learn about elephant’s behavior and discover the unique and interesting history of each elephant as you touch, play, feed, and photograph them. Once you have met and spent time with each of the elephants, you can retire to a relaxing platform overlooking a picturesque river and jungle. There, you will enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional Thai food and fresh fruit, before being re-united with your elephant friends. At this point during the day, you will walk alongside the elephants to a nearby river and join them for a bath in the refreshing water. Here, you will have the opportunity to bathe and brush the elephants while they enjoy wading through the water. 

Next, it’s time for a therapeutic mud spa. Feel free to get muddy as you cover the elephants in a protective layer of mud. Have fun playing with them and watch as they joyfully frolic in the mud spa. When it’s time to say goodbye to the elephants, you can take some final photos with the m to preserve this precious memory, then head upstream and wash off your remaining mud, or relax with a swim in the fresh, clean water. Finally, you will change clothes and take a scenic walk back through the Karen village.

Return to your hotel by driving through the picturesque rural scenery in the pleasant glow of the afternoon sun. Dinner is on your own.

Wake up early morning at 05:00 am.

Then drive up to mountains to visit Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep at dawn- this is remarkable. The temple was quiet, the monks are just rousing and going out for alms offerings, the view is incredible, the light is magical. There are no crowds at all. It is the beginning of a great and wonderful day. Doi Suthep temple on the top of Doi Suthep mountain is the most landmark of Chiang Mai, up there it offers you shiny golden pagoda, on the platform down the hill you can enjoy the complete panoramic views of whole Chiang Mai city and wonderful countryside landscape while the sun is rising behind Chiang Mai city and mountains, The morning golden sky and views becomes beautiful paintings! The sound of temple bells, the monks chanting, and fascinating view of Chiang Mai will fill your heart. Morning life in that temple is unforgettable. A cup of coffee is possible. Don’t leave this impression.

Afterward, you will be transferred to Ton Payom market to do merit-making by giving Alms (some food and drink, etc. prepared for you) to the local monks wearing saffron robes. We add Thai touches to your experience by arranging food offerings to monks, a ceremony called Tak Bart in Thai. This is a morning ritual and an act of sharing and giving by Thai Buddhists. We invite you to experience this Thai morning ritual first-hand. You will find this to be a great start to the day, as your spirit will be delighted and blessed. Then return to your hotel for breakfast around 9:00 am.    

The remainder of the day is free at leisure. Lunch is on your own.

Late afternoon around 04:00 pm, you will enjoy a private cooking class at Thai Garden Farm Cookery School. Firstly, you will visit Local Fresh Market with your guide. Then, drive to the Thai Garden Farm Cookery School. It has been built in center of garden. They grow tropical a variety of flowers, vegetables, herbs and fruits. Some herbs and vegetables are used as the main the ingredients of the cooking, being aromatic, colorful and full of flavor in the garden. You can walk to see and picking some herbs, vegetables for your own cooking. Some herbs are also used for local medicine. You can taste and stimulating for your sense. Enjoy the cooking class with Chef who has gotten a lot of Thai cooking, farming tips and techniques. Taste your dishes (with soft drinks & mineral water) afterwards.  Drive back to your hotel for relaxation. Arrive back at your hotel at around 08:30 pm.
