THE JAHAN

A HERITAGE LINE COLLECTION

Lower Mekong, Vietnam – Cambodia

The enchanting The Jahan captivates and transports guests back in time with an aura evoking the glory of former British-India. Named after the celebrated 16th-century Indian emperor and great patron of the arts, Shah Jahan, Heritage Line designed this regal craft with fine artworks and outfitting sourced from India. Each of the 26 large and elegantly decorated staterooms and suites has a secluded balcony and an in-room lounge with sofa. The décor is unique, with hand-painted artifacts and antique furniture sourced from India. The sprawling Noble Suites each feature unique designs inspired by classical British and Indian motifs.

The Jahan offers all the facilities of a fine resort including a pool, the quiet Apsara Spa, a fitness room, a steam bath, extravagant indoor The Raj of India Lounge, and the lavish Viceroy Dining Hall restaurant. The British-Indian styled and open-air East India Club & Bar, with its comfortable sofas, is an ideal place to unwind and make new friends, while the light-flooded Observatory Lounge is a delightful hideaway with wonderful river views.

LOCATION

  • As the longest river in Southeast Asia, the Mekong runs through cities of six countries (China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam) and after enduring a 4,500 km journey. In the south of Vietnam, the Mekong River ends of its 2,800-mile journey and is famed for splitting into nine tributaries which give the region its Vietnamese name “Cuu Long”, meaning Nine Dragons; they are together form what is more commonly referred to as the Mekong Delta.
  • Joining the Mekong River at Phnom Penh (Cambodia) is the Tonle Sap, which is connected to its massive reservoir and Southeast Asia’s largest inland lake. The Tonle River’s claim to fame is that it is the world’s only waterway which flows in both directions. It is advantageous for embarking on trips and excursions like kayaking to floating villages on the lower Mekong River.
