Jayavarman

A HERITAGE LINE COLLECTION

Lower Mekong, Vietnam – Cambodia

Jayavarman is the father of Heritage Line’s unique ship collection and is named after the most renowned Cambodian monarch, Jayavarman VII, who was known for his tranquility and love for artistic creations. He created some of the most famous temples of the lost Angkorian civilisation. A journey along the Lower Mekong River between Saigon and Siem Reap or vice versa, Jayavarman interior design is characterised by a charming French-Colonial theme along with stylish Khmer accents. Public areas are decorated with fine objects d’art emanating an aura of a floating art gallery.

All the elegantly decorated staterooms and signature suites (27 cabins) evoke memories of a glorious heritage and provide ample-sized private balconies. Guests can also enjoy superior facilities that extend to a spa, elevated sun deck and Jacuzzi pool with 360-degree views of the Mekong. The restaurant “Indochine Dining Hall” grants an open kitchen which adds a unique flair to the culinary life on board experience, an evocative Club 1930 Funnel Bar & Lounge. The Javayarman is also renowned for its exceptional hospitality levels and a voyage adventure of on-and off-shore experiences on Southeast Asia’s most compelling river.

LOCATION

  • As the longest river in Southeast Asia, the Mekong runs through cities of six countries (China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam) and after enduring a 4,500 km journey and splitting into nine arms, or called ‘dragons’. A fifth of Vietnam’s 100 million citizens live in the delta, and a vast majority of them rely on the Mekong for agriculture and fishing.

  • Joining the Mekong River at Phnom Penh (Cambodia) is the Tonle Sap, which is connected to its massive reservoir and Southeast Asia’s largest inland lake. The Tonle River’s claim to fame is that it is the world’s only waterway which flows in both directions. It is advantageous for embarking on trips and excursions like kayaking to floating villages on the lower Mekong River.
